We have one of the largest global service and sales organizations among precision instrumentation companies, and we need to add to this team immediately in Vancouver, BC. We are currently hiring a  Laboratory Equipment Service Technician for our laboratory division. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, certifications, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing pipettes at customer locations. 

While your responsibilities will primarily be focused on pipette service and repair, you will also: 

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on other Mettler Toledo weighing devices in use at customer locations
  • Comply with ISO 17025 standards
  • Maintain proper parts in inventory
  • Cooperate with sales to meet customer requirements
  • Follow all service requirements while also promoting and selling service and products
  • Complete various record keeping tasks
  • Travel outside of the territory when needed to assist other technicians

What You Need to Succeed

  • Worked in field service or have related experience in installation, preventive maintenance, and repair skills. Experience in a field related to chemistry would be a plus.
  • The ability to keep track of job assignments and a detailed schedule
  • The ability to identify the root causes of service issues the first time using your keen knowledge of the products and your comfort with hand tools and calibration equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills, detail orientation, and great verbal and written communication skills.
  • The discipline to update service records on time and ensure data integrity.
  • The desire and ability to promote and sell services and products. Generating sales leads is a requirement.
  • A combination of degree and/or relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving history.
  • The ability to travel overnight while performing regular duties is a must.
