Technical Writer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

For our Process Analytics division, which is based in Urdorf, Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to support our dedicated documentation team. Together with our Product Management and R&D team, you will be responsible for creating our technical documentations (instruction manuals, safety manuals, quick setup guides etc.) on our Process Analytics, Gas Analytics and Water Analytics portfolio (sensors, transmitters, housings). This role will be based in our offices in Warsaw, Poland and requires fluent English.

Key responsibilities:

  • writing and editing user documentation for the Process Analytics portfolio in English,
  • collaborating with R&D and Product Management to support customer documentation needs for products and services designed in Switzerland, USA and China,
  • gathering information from various parties and distilling it to easy-to-understand, jargon-free, technical text,
  • creating complex documentation (text) content and collaborating on required photographs and illustrations,
  • following general and internal guidelines and standards for technical documentation,
  • coordinating timelines and translations with internal and external partners,
  • working with a Content Management System (CMS) and DTP software.

What You Need to Succeed

  • degree in Technical Documentation or similar,
  • minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Technical Writer in a related field,
  • experience with CMS tools (ideally SCHEMA ST4),
  • ability to write in XML,
  • technical English (ideally STE) and fluent English skills are a must,
  • solid understanding of how databases are thinking,
  • knowledge of content reuse principles,
  • skills in editing/creating technical illustrations (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Photography),
  • ability to think and act structured,
  • highly motivated, accustomed to work independently,
  • experience in working with terminology and Function design┬« nice to have,
  • collaboration experience with international teams or markets (preferred),
  • willingness to travel up to 20%.
