METTLER TOLEDO is looking for someone to manage Regional Sourcing Categories related to mechanical items, drawing parts and sub-assemblies. You will need to deliver on innovation, total cost and supplier performance (Q, C, D) improvements on our team. You will drive standardization and supplier consolidation and utilization of regional preferred suppliers, global guidelines and low cost sourcing, while optimizing the US regional supplier base. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct procurement opportunity analysis for designated category for the US plants including but not limited to spend analysis, cost analysis, defining opportunities for standardization and value engineering. While also matching US units demand with the portfolio of globally preferred suppliers and modules. 
  • Prioritize opportunities and lead improvement projects Establish collaboration between global and local supply chains. 
  • Communicate, advocate, and represent US requirements to global category managers. 
  • Define and execute the vendor base strategy.
  • Negotiate consolidated spend and define annual standard costs. 
  • Optimize the number of vendors used for a category 
  • Focus on improving ITO and payment terms.
  • US lead for Mechanical Parts and other regional categories depending on the need.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or procurement/supply chain. MBA preferred. 
  • Professional certification (ie. ISM or ASCM) preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management in a global or multiple US site production environment. 
  • Regular use of eSourcing, Spend Analytics, and Contract Management tools. 
  • Successful track record of project management, cost reduction, and supplier performance improvement.
