Embedded System Intern

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Our Research & Development Team is currently searching for an Embedded Systems Intern to facilitate research and work on an exciting new project. You will be responsible for FPGA technology and workflow development.  

Responsibilities will include:
  • Gain familiarity with the Ultra96 Platform by reviewing schematics and documentation and experimenting basic functionality – power, clocks, resets, IO, and interfaces
  • Gain familiarity with Xilinx toolchains and embedded Linux by completing courses from Avnet/HacksterIO on Ultra96 Hardware, Vivado Suite, Petalinux and Neural Network deployment on Ultra96
  • Interact with Xilinx and Avnet FAEs for support
  • Use Ultra96 platform, work on implementing the Neural Network Needles/Bubbles identification algorithm on real-time hardware.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Pursuing Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems or Firmware Engineering or Computer Science, or other technical field
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a lab and use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with electrical devices and semiconductor electronics
  • Experience with programmable logic or software development
  • Exposure to Machine Learning and real-time embedded systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and interpersonal skills
