Payroll Analyst

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As part of a team, the Payroll Analyst will perform U.S., Canada and international assignee payroll functions, payroll reporting, accounting functions and tax requirements for the METTLER TOLEDO HR Shared Service Center in North America and Canada.  The payroll team collaborates with a third party payroll service delivery team to accurately and timely process semi-monthly, bi-weekly and weekly payroll cycles to ensure the highest level of payroll, tax and wage/hour compliance. 

U.S. and Canada Payroll 
  • Work with ADP to ensure they can accurately process U.S. and Canada payroll transactions, hours worked, tax compliance and government reporting for all employees. 
  • Process all year-end payroll tasks for U.S. and Canada payroll. 
  • Research payroll related issues/requests from stakeholders and provide timely follow-up with accurate details. 
  • Process the SAP-HCM interface to ensure data is imported into the third party payroll system timely and accurately. 
  • Collaborate with third party Wage Garnishment team to manage and process employee federal and state wage garnishments.  
  • Assist with verifying all annual benefit premium changes, GTL, HSA, FSA, 401K are imported and accurate in third party payroll system. 
  • Collaborate with Payroll Lead to complete payroll tasks needed by FinanceStay up-to-date on state and federal payroll, tax and wage/hour laws. 
  • Other payroll and administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification highly preferred.  
  • 3-5 years of experience in: U.S. multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, general ledger/payroll accounting and year-end payroll processes within a similar industry.
  • Canadian payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, general ledger/payroll accounting and year-end payroll processes 
  • Managing international assignment taxes and payroll for home and host country processes. 
  • ADP WFN payroll processing, preferably under a fully outsourced ADP Comprehensive Services model. 
  • Timekeeping systems and interfaces with high level knowledge of federal and state wage and hour requirements.  Kronos timekeeping experience highly preferred. 
  • California payroll processing.
