Working closely with PMO, the associate Project Manager will both manage and assist in the management of New Product Development and introduction of projects and at times be responsible for specific projects at the discretion of the PMO.  During the NPD process, the Associate Project Manager will generate or facilitate generation of the required project documentation to guide and assist the project team in the predictable execution and launch of PLM Milestones and Product Launches.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with marketing and R&D to help define and develop overall project scope, make master project plan with detailed work breakdown structure to have estimates for each deliverable throughout the project life cycle.
  • Serve as an escalation point for cross-functional alignment and undertake planning, management and implement of project management activities like quality, resource, risk, and communication.
  • Work with contract manufacturers and external vendors to explain the project requirements and quality guidelines.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, supply chain, finance, engineering etc. for smooth execution of project.
  • Present periodic dashboard reports, project status reports consisting of project deliverables, timelines and quality parameters to technical and corporate leadership.
  • Provide assistance in project and product documentation such as MRD, TRD, risk register, issue logs, assumptions and constraints and lessons learned for each project undertaken.
  • Interface with documentation control team to archive design history files and maintain configuration management, Bill of Materials etc.
  • Develop and implement project management best practices, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the R&D department.
  • Ensure stage-gate process integrity throughout implementation by assigning, coordinating and reviewing the technical work of the R&D department.
  • Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified and proactively ensure that risk-mitigating actions are ongoing within the engineering teams.
  • Develop and execution of Project documentation related to the five stages of Project Management, Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor & Control, and Closing.

Ihr Profil

  • BS in an engineering discipline.
  • PMP certification preferred, PMI CAPM certification with PM experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with Project management tools.
  • Solid past performance as an Engineering Team lead or Project Manager.
  • Has participated as a senior engineer or above in at least two complete Product development cycles from design to launch.
  • Must have experience leading NPD sub teams.
  • Must be able to function in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, budgeting and project management directed toward achievement of business goals.
  • Proven skills working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication and platform skills.
  • Strong teaching and presentation skills required.
  • Strong Coaching and Facilitation skills.
  • Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project.
