Technical Support Specialist - CAD

The Mechanical Design Automation (MDA) Solution Specialist is responsible for supporting R&D units worldwide in the design of customer solutions according to our global template. He / She contributes to and executes Product Lifecycle Management projects for our METTLER TOLEDO subsidiaries, and drives and manages the following activities: 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide tier 2 support (troubleshooting and resolving issues) in close collaboration with the power users (tier 1) in the units 
  • Support users of our end-to-end design solutions including 3D Mechanical CAD design tools (Creo and Inventor) and our global PLM System (Teamcenter), used in the creation of designs of our products through releasing them, required maintenance through their product life, and their eventual obsolescence 
  • Identify areas for improvement with regards to functionalities, performance, automation, user friendliness and robustness of the solutions 
  • Contribute to the evolution of the global Mechanical Design Automation template, design guidelines and design quality checks, collaborating with Product Owner, Solution Architect and Business Analyst. 
  • Support installations of applications including integrations for end user clients. Maintain the necessary documentation to make the power users self-sufficient (e.g. user manual, process documentation). 
  • Maintain and execute test scripts. 
  • Support enhancement and upgrade projects during all phases until delivery to production.
  • Execute user training for new functionalities and refresh trainings. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Domestic and international travel of approximately 20% per year.

Ihr Profil

·         Masters or bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent education.

·         Good knowledge of the the following tools:

§   CAD for mechanical design (PTC Creo and/or Inventor is a plus)

§   PLM system (Siemens Teamcenter is a plus)

·         Experience with change management processes (CMII , ITIL or similar )

·         Ability to communicate across different teams (e.g., R&D, Operations)

·         Independent, accurate way of working and understanding of complex processes and inter-dependencies, high problem solving ability.

·         Excellent team player capabilities and communication skills
