Capital Equipment Business Manager

The Rental Equipment Business Manager has full P&L responsibility for the rental equipment business. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, resource and asset management, driving sales growth by working directly with customers and though the existing sales channel, developing and implementing the necessary business structure, and individual project/program management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Run the day-to-day operations of the rental equipment business, including but not limited to, training and development of support staff, enhancing and maintaining efficient business processes, managing asset utilization, and justification for capital expenditures.
  • Set the course for success by clearly defining and executing a business strategy, including lead and opportunity follow up, go-to-market strategies to drive revenue growth, market pricing, asset utilization and the creation of additional revenue streams across four product lines.
  •  Establish SOP's and best practices for rental and re-inspection services.
  • Ensure profitable rental sales growth by working directly with customers and existing sales channels to achieve annual sales and profitability targets. 
  • Process change orders and cancellations, and work with AR to resolve payment disputes
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of x-ray, metal detection, checkweighing and vision system applications and markets.
  • Work closely with the service organization to train field service engineers to become capable of supporting customers in obtaining the best possible inspection results with rental equipment.
  • Assist marketing in developing rental and re-inspection business collateral and promotional materials.
  •  Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI's) on a monthly basis and develop plans to course correct as needed. 
  • Occasional travel to customer facilities to assist sales representatives in selling rental equipment, using consultative selling skills.
  • Oversee department inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate planning and materials for execution of trade show equipment.
  •  Maintain and grow relationships with channel partners
  •  Establish active and ongoing learning and training to understand the market, products and brand positioning to grow revenue
  • Other duties as required by department manager.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Ihr Profil

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of x-ray and metal detection products.

  • Consultative selling skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work well under pressure.

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational and planning skills.

  • Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • SAP Experience a Plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Some travel required, primarily in the acceleration phase of the business.

  • Ability to collaborate, communicate and coordinate with other departments and disciplines - including marketing, commercial services, customer support, sales administration and other sales departments to modify plans as appropriate to achieve company objectives.


Minimum Education / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum 5 years of sales/business management experience.

  • Technical background; experience with capital equipment for the food industry (x-ray and metal detection) a plus.
