The Engineering Technician is responsible for developing, providing guidance, and executing validation strategies on Vision, Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, and X-Ray systems to provide documented evidence that our processes, products and software have been commissioned, qualified and/or validated in a manner that meets or exceeds our customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct Functional System Test on Vision, Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, and X-Ray systems ensuring machines are built and function to customer and Mettler-Toledo specifications.
Conduct product assembly set up and system de-bug
Develop procedures, methods and tools for test, verification and certification for MTPI products
Assist and train Assembly Technicians in set up and system de-bug, and work with our development teams to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
Know, follow and help create SOPs within the FST Workspace
Accurately track and record time spent on solutions
Provide adequate reporting and communication of all projects
Adheres to all company policies and procedures
Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10lbs
Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50lbs
Standing, walking and bending for long periods of time
Other duties and tasks as assigned
Ihr Profil
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Self-starter who exhibits a professional demeanor, enthusiasm, good communications and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver on project timelines with little supervision
Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
Sufficient knowledge of Schematic Drawing, CAD data and BOM structure (Bill of Material)
Good understanding of the A3 process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology
Electronics aptitude with troubleshooting skills
Electrical and Mechanical aptitude
Excellent understanding on how to use a multi-meter
Excellent technical documentation skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with a keen focus to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience in developing test instructions and procedures
Proficient Bilingual skills in English and Spanish required for this position
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years experience with electromechanical assembly and/or troubleshooting
Two-Year degree in related field or a combination of education and relevant experience
Experience with Vision, Checkweigher, Metal Detector, and X-Ray Systems specifically within the food industry is preferred
