Industrial Field Service Technician - Vancouver, BC

Mettler Toledo has one of the largest global service and sales organizations among precsion instrumentation companies, and we need to add to this team immediately in Vancouver. We are looking for a Service Technician living in the lower mainland to cover the territory.  Your duties will focus on our industrial product line (vehicle and rail scales, large industrial scales). Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Troubleshooting and repairing scales and instruments, including competitors' products. 
  • Performing calibrations and preventative maintenance, diagnosing and problem solving, installing new equipment. 
  • Helping our customers keep their operations going with the accuracy and quality they expect from Mettler Toledo. 
  • Sharing recommendations and expertise with customers, becoming their "trusted advisor." 
  • Collaborating with your colleagues in sales and actively generating leads for other areas of the company.
  • Working indoors and outdoors to perform these duties – wherever the scale is located and whatever the conditions are. You will travel to our customer locations throughout the province. 
  • You can expect occasional overnight travel. There will also be overtime based on business needs.
  • This position is in a union environment

Ihr Profil

  • Minimum 2 year college diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Engineering, Electronics, or Technology, or equivalent education and experience in a technical role, required.
  • Calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair skills
  • The ability to identify the root causes of service issues the first time using your keen knowledge of the products and your comfort with hand tools and calibration equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills, detail orientation, and great verbal and written communication skills
  • The discipline to update service records on time and ensure data integrity
  • The desire and ability to promote and sell services and products, generating sales leads
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and provide on-call standby on a rotational basis
  • Will be required to become accredited as a Measurement Canada inspector, as well as obtain a Class 3 License. Must be willing to operate a heavy duty test truck.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving history
