Rainin's IE Group is responsible for tracking and improving production performance, participating in and providing recommendations for new product introductions, driving implementation of CI/Sterndrive projects in production.

The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for coaching and leading the team team in all their activities. The Industrial Engineering Manager shall have a strong focus on improving knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies, both in the plant and in the office. This position requires spending a significant amount of time on the production floor, and involves working cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Safety and other functions, to provide support as needed to keep our plant running efficiently and safely.

Plant Performance Tracking and Visual Management

  • Drive Continuous Improvement of our plant data collection and reporting systems (Tableau, PlantStar, Etc) to increase data accuracy and reduce processing losses in generating the data.
  • Gather requirements for data collection and reporting regarding plant efficiency, material and labor usage and waste from stakeholders, and develop systems to provide required information.

Continuous Improvement

  • Understand and support the corporate strategy, and work with all functions across the production teams to implement lean process flows
  • Continuously assess, and where necessary improve continuous improvement activities and tools.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and assemble teams to support production improvement activities, including, but not limited to, sponsoring projects and initiatives (Sterndrive).
  • Communicate the status and results of project implementation to all levels of the organization.
  • Be on the lookout for process improvements across all processes within production and encourage/coach stakeholders to execute continuous improvement activities to improve these processes.

People Development

  • Develop and improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), including, but not limited to 5S, 8D, Kaizen and provide training on these topics as needed. 
  • Coach and mentor others in the successful execution of Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Leadership

  • Lead, coach and mentor the Industrial Engineering team in the execution of their everyday activities.
  • Support the team in executing their projects on time, within budget, using effective change management techniques
  • Keep team members motivated by creating a supportive and inspirational work environment
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Proven track record of implementation of production and process improvement initiatives
  • In-depth understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, including, but not limited to:

    • Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis
    • PDCA
    • Process Mapping; SIPOC Mapping;
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
    • Time Studies
    • Kaizen
    • 5S
    • Poka Yoke (Error proofing)
  • Knowledge of Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and Safety functions
  • Effectively communicate ideas, concepts and procedures to all levels within the organization, from the production floor to senior management.
  • Set priorities for self and team.
  • Identify training needs and define programs to ensure teams have the necessary skill sets to see projects through
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook); knowledge and sound understanding of database systems.

Ihr Profil

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
  • Continuous Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leading direct reports.
