The SBU (Strategic Business Unit) Balances & Moisture (BM) is in charge of the Standard and Advanced levels (entry level up to the lower part of the high-end) laboratory balances as well as for the full portfolio of Moisture instruments within METTLER TOLEDO LabTec. As laboratory balances market leader, we differentiate us from other suppliers with unique innovations with distinctive customer value. Our main markets are the pharma, chemical, academia, food, and testing lab industry for R&D and Quality Control workplaces. In order to ensure the steady growth of the LabTec Unit and to guarantee always a high product quality, we are looking for an entrepreneurial, goal- and strategically oriented Market Development Manager 100% (f/m/d).

In this role, your responsibilities would include:
  • You are in charge of the development of key markets (segments and regions), this includes the strategic market assessments and research support of key initiatives related to selection and penetration of accounts, strategic activities from SBU side and tactical implementation activities with our Market Organizations
  • You will coordinate and lead SBU collection and gathering of regular customer feedback via direct account visits, round tables, and/or from the different Market Organizations
  • Planning, coaching and supporting of dealer management in regards of strategic partnerships, contracts, marketing plans and marketing initiatives belong also to your task as supporting strategic initiative implementation and best practice sharing to drive topline revenue growth in the markets
  • Furthermore, you act as main contact for SBU communication with Market Organizations to win mindshare for SBU BM, you will collect feedbacks on markets, tools and collateral needs, establish regular update and business review touchpoints with key Market Organizations and ensure SBU news (product launches, new tools, etc.) are shared
  • You will guide and lead Market Development personnel operating in Asia-Pacific and in EU/Americas
  • Last but not least you will organize regular face-to-face and virtual meetings with key Market Organizations as well as customer visits and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting to management and team

Ihr Profil

Following requirements are necessary for this role:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in natural science, preferably Chemistry with at least 5 years of work experience as a Product Manager, Key Account Manager or other sales related function
  • Proven professional experience in a global acting company and operating in a matrix structure
  • You are a networker with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with market organizations and customers. With your leadership skills you should be able to motivate people in matrix organization and get things done
  • You have a good sense for business opportunities as well as entrepreneurial attitude combined with excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English, further language skills are a plus
  • Readiness to travel globally around 30 - 40%
