The Manufacturing Engineer I position is a great opportunity for an entry level manufacturing engineer to work closely with the Senior Manufacturing Engineering staff.  You will be responsible for sustaining engineering activities for active products, Engineering Change Process, agency compliance, and supporting the Operations Team in promoting highest levels of manufacturing efficiency and product quality.  Position responsibilities include:
  • Leading the Engineering Change Process from change request through implementation on the manufacturing floor. Particular emphasis is on Bill of Materials (BOM) management, Impact Analysis and Documentation control within ERP/MRP system (SAP).
  • Working with R&D engineers on development of engineering collateral such as assembly drawings, manufacturing assembly instructions, design of test and assembly fixtures.
  • Supporting the manufacturing of current products through process troubleshooting / failure analysis, process improvement activities, and development of process fixtures and automation.
  • Researching and maintaining agency compliance documentation (e.g. ROHS and REACH) for active products, components and assemblies.

Ihr Profil

  • Associate's Degree in an Engineering Discipline. Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience in an ISO9001 manufacturing and/or engineering environment; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to systematically analyze design documentation
  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately modify technical drawings 
  • Experience with CAD software preferred
  • Prior experience implementing engineering changes utilizing change control processes 
  • Functional understanding of Bill of Materials, material flow, and ERP/MRP experience is preferred. SAP system experience a plus.
  • Hands on experience with laboratory test equipment and small components (e.g. calipers, micrometers, oscilloscopes, DMM, microscope, small tools and assemblies, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, small team environment with minimal supervision
    Personal communication skills that allow ease of interface between departments and ability to gain cooperation through influence 
  • Inherent desire to improve manufacturability of products and interest in underlying technology
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%, both domestically and internationally
