Mettler Toledo Rainin's R & D team is currently searching for a Senior Electronics Engineer to work on the development of new products and the  improvement of designs via collaborative peer reviews.  Multiple products will be worked on in parallel with the assistance of other Engineers within the Department.  Responsibilities will include:
  • Participating in larger product development teas as the electrical engineer, leading or designing the development of the electrical response to the product needs.  These needs could include overall electrical design, component research and selection, pcb design, layout, test, troubleshooting and correction. 

  • Documenting electronic system requirements

  • Working with the project team to select components to implement the system requirements

  • Work with component vendors to qualify parts to meet the needs of the system arhitecture and manufacturing

  • Perform circuit design, schematic entry and oversee board layout for system cirtcuit boards

  • Own documentation and revision control of assigned parts, including associated engineering documents

  • Generate and maintain revitions of Bills of Materials (BOM's)

  • Work with board houses to create production ready circuit boards

  • Support existing and future products and generate and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO's)

  • Work with firmware Engineer on board bring up and iinitial testing

  • Create prototypes and testbeds

  • Own regulatory testing for EMC, FCC, CE etc. standars

  • Create documentation, test reprots

  • Use computer assisted engineering and design sofware and equipment to perform engineering tasks.


Ihr Profil

Required Skills

·       Minimum of 6  years of professional experience designing microprocessor based embedded system hardware

·       Experience designing electronics from a schematic level all the way to assembly & BOM level.

·       Experience in digital and analog circuit design

·       Experience working with motion control (Stepper and DC motor) drive architectures

·       Experience in designing battery powered handheld devices

·       Regulatory compliance experience (e.g. safety, emission, immunity)

·       Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as USB, RS-232, SPI, I2C, I2S, CAN etc.

·       Work in a PLM (product Lifecycle Management) environment

·       CAD software skills: Mentor Graphics, Teamcenter  

·       Must be able to work independently and with a team

·       Good (English) communication skills

Desired Skills

·       Experience with RFID and other wireless technologies (RF, Bluetooth, Wifi, Antenna design)

·       Experience with microcontroller programming for board bring up, testing, driver development

·       IOT technologies
