Shipping Receiving Clerk 1 (Temp)

This position is responsible for outbound (shipping function) and inbound (receiving function) material control and movement.

Shipping responsibilities include: verifying quantity, quality, labeling, truck loading of product and items of merchandise ready for shipment to the customer.

Receiving responsibilities include: loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the facility. This function requires organization to ensure smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments.

Both responsibilities include entering data into the computer system and resolving discrepancies with material and/or paperwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Shipping Function-Customer Order Preparation

    Verify and compare items packed with customer’s order and other identifying data.

    Prepare customer orders for shipping, via common carrier and express carriers.

Shipping Function Package Preparation -

    Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.

    Prepares shipments for transport by use of pallets, shrink wrap, baskets, pvc, crates, and/or boxes.

  • Shipping Department-Dock/Truck Management

    Coordinate staging of outgoing customer orders, parts, and commodities in the shipping area.

    Unload and/or adjust trailer load for safe transporting of goods.

Receiving Department- Dock/Truck/Material Management

    Unloads incoming materials, checks freight bill for container count and visually inspects freight for damage. Receive, check, count, mark, and distribute goods. Detail and report damages and shortages.

    Move parts to warehouse or point of use (department).

    Assure part numbers are on all parts prior to delivery or location in rank 1 location.

Receiving Department- Purchase Order Receipt and Follow-up

    Check supplier packing list for quantity, purchase order, part number, and description.

    Process packing slips for data entry. Check validity of purchase order, i.e. non-zero prices on purchase orders. Once validated, input data from packing list into the ERP system.

    Process non-purchase order receipts (corporate credit card) and distribute or notify associates of incoming orders ready for pickup in the shipping/receiving department.

Receiving Department- Customer Returns

    Log all customer receipts in Excel spreadsheet.

    Place goods in RMA staging area for Service department processing.

Ihr Profil

Prerequisites (Education, Experience):

    High school graduate or equivalency.

    1-2 years’ experience in warehouse environment

    Moderate lifting up to and including 75lbs.

    Forklift operation experience and ability to obtain Forklift certification.
