Test Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Qualifications : 
  • B.E. / B.Sc. Graduates, with a Science / Life science background (E.g.: Bio-Technology, Analytical chemistry, Physics)
  • An affinity for quality required by a tester, a sense of how to implement meaningful and robust tests
  • Ability to read and understand requirements written in English and implement the needed tests
  • Clear oral and written communication in English

Professional Character: 
  • Is curious about how things work / how things may fail
  • Shows initiative and is motivated to learn
  • Has strong analytical skills and is able to find dependencies and relations
  • Has good attention to details 
  • Drives a task to completion independently, if given an introduction
  • Is focused, commits to a deadline and brings tasks to closure as per commitment
  • Is transparent and organized
  • Undestands set priorities and plans his/her assigned tasks accordingly
  • Can communicate clearly – the statuses and issues 
  • Proactively brings up difficulties in accomplishing a task and seeks solution

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Analytical chemistry / Titration 
  • Understanding of Software development life cycle and Testing life cycle
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with Data-Driven Testing, Context-Driven Testing, BDD and Gherkin is an advantage

What You Need to Succeed

  • Understand the laboratory domain
  • Learn existing product lines / modules
  • Study and understand Software Requirements
  • Breakdown requirements into testable units
  • Design, implement and maintain reusable test cases
  • Understand the software development process, test strategy and test process in place and follow the processes in your daily tasks
  • Execute manual explorative tests on simulators and instruments
  • Remember and back trace steps done during testing activities and troubleshoot issues / help recreate them
  • Log clear bug reports and Retest resolved bugs
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders across time zones
  • Participate in planning and reporting of the cross-functional project team (e.g. sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint retrospectives).
