Process Analytics (PRO) is a division within METTLER TOLEDO that produces analytical measurement solutions for industrial manufacturing processes. This division has over 60 years of experience as a leader in the industry of liquid process analytics and ultrapure water analytics. We focus on the high value-added segments of our markets by providing innovative instruments that often integrate various technologies including application-specific solutions for customers. We design our instruments not only to gather valuable data but also to facilitate the processing and transfer of this data into customers' management information systems.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will be responsible for promoting, managing, and growing liquid process  analytics sales to OEM clients. To be successful you are results-driven with the entrepreneurial spirit necessary to build a book of business in new markets. As BDM you will identify both new business opportunities within the primary Medical Device Manufacturers segment as well as new OEM markets.

Focusing on existing and OEM-specific products, the BDM is capable of working with customers or on their own to develop applications and use cases that bring value to the user. You will build strong, long-term relationships with customer engineering and procurement teams. In this capacity, this role requires the ability to provide technical integration support and negotiate large multi-year supply contracts.

The position is ideally located in the Boston area but, for the right candidate, can be remote with periodic travel to the home office; with an additional 25-50% travel expected.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences with 5+ years of technical sales or business development experience with analytical equipment for life sciences research, In vitro diagnostics (IVD), or similar technology.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory Microbiological and Biochemical analysis and/or Molecular Diagnostics technologies.
  • Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals; understanding of business implications on decisions; display an orientation to profitability. Aligns work with strategic goals.
  • Versed in concept validation and market research methods such as voice of customer.
  • Excellent planning, execution, and project-management skills.
