Staff Accountant

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In close cooperation with the Account Managers, this position prepares timely and accurate financial information. This role requires a solid accounting, finance and analytical foundation as well as excellent communication skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintains general ledger integrity and ensures financial compliance with the Controller’s manual and to all applicable laws and regulations; 
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month end close and accounting transactions, including P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation and resolution; 
  • Ensures financial records are in compliance with US GAAP. Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies and procedures including SOX controls; 
  • Supports the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process; 
  • Coordinates the resolution of account reconciliation variances; 
  • Interacts with internal and external auditors and supports quarter end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication; 
  • Establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with internal customers. Supports the success of a high-performing shared service organization by focusing on continuous improvements in business processes.

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Knowledge of US GAAP 
  • Ability to apply basic and advanced accounting theories and concepts 
  • Good analytical skills 
  • Process oriented, organized and attentive to details 
  • Strong understanding of internal controls / SOX 
  • Must possess strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills Minimum Education / Experience Required: 
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in finance or accounting 
  • 2+ years accounting experience 
  • CPA, CMA or similar desired 
  • SAP experience desired 
  • Hyperion reporting knowledge a plus
