Global Product Manager (Applications)

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Global Product Manager will take over a key role in managing a portfolio of particular customer applications around weighing solutions in Industry, throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Your responsibilities: 
  • You will contribute to the preparation and then implement the SPG strategy, as well as take responsibility for the assigned products and respective service products.
  • You will take a key role in managing these products around the globe and throughout the entire lifecycle from initializing the development of new products, through maintaining active products until the retirement of obsolete products and you will take care of the product, price, and promotion aspects.
  • Furthermore, you will prepare and execute product launches including the elaboration of launch materials, sales tools, guidance on market positioning, presentation to customers, and coordinate training for the sales, support, and training associates in the market organizations.
  • You will determine customer needs and derive product specifications for new software and consultative products, including the evaluation of the commercial justification of the project. 
  • Last but not least you will determine the sales process and pre-sales and follow-on services for the products, if applicable, determine spare parts, their positioning, and logistics/availability.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Marketing.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience and successful track record in product management of software and/or consultative products. 
  • Strong Software/IT focus.
  • Networker with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with internal stakeholders, market organizations, and customers around the Globe. You should be able to motivate people of different cultures in a matrix organization and get things done.
  • Good sense for business opportunities as well as entrepreneurial attitude combined with excellent oral and written communication skills in English, more languages are a plus.
  • Sales experience in software and/or consultative selling is a significant plus as well as knowledge of formulation processes and a strong sense for commercial aspects.
  • Readiness to travel globally (up to 10 - 15%).
