The National Sales Manager (North America) is responsible for leading a defined sales team and/or channel by inspiring, coaching and motivating them to deliver outstanding sales performance. He/she ensures that our sales team members are developed into and viewed as an excellent, outstanding core element of our Business Unit that serves and supports both external and internal customers. The National Sales Manager holds a key responsibility within the assigned Business Unit. He/she runs his/her region(s) as an effective, efficient selling organization and strives to make it a world-class organization in all relevant categories; Sales Performance, Product Competency and P & L management/expense control. The National Sales Manager will be intimately familiar with our markets, customers, channel partners, and internal processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on a weekly and monthly basis to understand sales trends, opportunities and unique situations that need attention
Regular interaction with direct reports reviewing their opportunity pipeline, target account activity and plans as well as overall performance to target
Work in the field approximately 2 weeks each month to provide sales coaching to field sales reps.  This function is travel intensive and requires overnight travel sometimes for entire weeks.
Directly manage inside sales team.
Manage and monitor all expenses as they relate to his/her responsible region. Put in place necessary cost control measures to meet expenses budgets and make necessary justifications when required. 
Work closely with marketing teams to address underperforming territories, key opportunities, and other marketing driven activities which can help to achieve sales targets and long term growth strategies.  
•      Closely manage the use of demo equipment and samples to be sure that the company assets are appropriately allocated to sales opportunities. 
Continually identify and work to improve position with target and key accounts.  Active involvement along with the sales rep and partners is required to build a stronger relationship with a better position for future growth. Monitor progress of these accounts quarterly and develop and redefine plans as needed.   
Manage the sales channels and develop relationships with the field sales personnel and corporate contacts for the large distributors in North America.
Travel to industry and distributor trade shows and sales conferences as needed.    
Design and implement Territory Plans for each region annually and meet quarterly to review performance and identify additional opportunities. 
Maintain thorough product knowledge for all products within the team. Continuously monitor product and application knowledge of all partners and team members. 
Become the lead sales trainer for Biotix.
Directly supervises employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws to include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; 
Work alongside HR in the recruitment process of new specialists as needed
Other duties and tasks as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Education & Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or closely related discipline is preferred; with a minimum of eight years of sales and / or marketing experience in field sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior supervisory experience with a proven ability to direct others in a multitask environment. Must be team player, creative problem-solver, and relationship focused.
