IT Data Analyst - SAP

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In this position you will act as the Data Migration and Load Specialist while being the Subject Matter Expert in the transformation of data and SAP data loads. You will be responsible for execution of data mass uploads and technical verification of its correctness up to 50% of your time. Another 50% you will be accountable for Data Transformation and load preparation activities as part of ERP implementation projects – predominantly from the Sales and Distribution areas. In addition you will be responsible of maintaining and changing transformation tools or mass load tools (e.g. LSMW). Within data governance, the global vision includes project implementation support in an operational environment that is providing mass change to the overall business. 

 Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Oversees end to end data quality by defining and executing data migration processes, specifically data validation, cleansing, and enrichment for assigned data objects. 
  • Execute uploads of cleansed and enriched data into the pre-production and production systems across the SAP landscape on a daily basis. 
  • Manages and properly supports assigned projects and deliverables within assigned area, specifically including support for SAP implementation projects and related tasks. 
  • Owns data migration processes and documentation across assigned data objects. 
  • Manages changes to extraction and transformation processes and tools, including value mapping, data preparation, and data de-duplication. 
  • Monitors the proper execution of mass data loads, log errors, and identifies load related errors. 
  • Execute data quality improvements and refinement of load tools and processes. 
  • Interact with various stakeholders from IT, business and data governance teams to pro-actively solve issues and improve data migration processes. 
  • Provides guidance on the development of any changes to new or existing load processes and tools. 
  • Identifies and defines new process and continuous improvement opportunities, specifically template processes and deliverables. 
  • Works closely and maintains effective relationships with internal team members, business and project stakeholders. 
  • Ensures a “knowledge-sharing” culture by effective communication and documentation. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A degree in an IT or Business field is preferred
  • SAP Data Management Experience 2-3 years, ideally coming from SAP ERP data migration projects 
  • SAP Technical experience: LSMW, Additional Load Programs (BAPI,SAP Scripts), SAP data model structure 
  • Other Technical experience: MS Excel (including VBA Macros), MS Access, ETL Tools 
  • International project experience would be an asset 
  • Analytically strong with ability to fluently use MS Excel and MS Access 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; required in functional teams and with business partners 
  • Structured, detailed working methodology; continuous improvement approach and process oriented
