HR Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Human Resources Specialist works closely with the Head of HR and other Corporate HR members to collaborate, develop and implement select HR programs/policies. This position is responsible for assigned special projects as defined by the Head of HR, with an emphasis on Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Training Programs, Global Performance Management Administration, Affirmative Action reporting support, etc. In addition, this position will have responsibility for handling all SAP/HCM personnel transactions, Kronos/time tracking and ADP/payroll administration. You will be expected to collaborate and respond to employees and leaders related to human resources questions, problems and issues in the aforementioned areas. This position requires excellent judgment, sound decision-making, and attention to detail. In addition, maintains a professional demeanor and confidentiality. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Serves as an in-office point person for employees and leaders within aforementioned areas and recognizes complex issues that should be escalated. 
  • Conducts onboarding activities for new employees 
  • Ensures effective and timely administration of the Company’s SAP/HCM system, Kronos time tracking, ADP payroll submissions, annual bonus submission process, HR vendor invoice processing and quarterly/monthly reporting requirements. 
  • Assist the Head of HR on special projects. Where applicable, participate in special project teams in support of improving HR policies, programs, and/or initiatives. 
  • Manage immigration matters for existing and new employees in conjunction with Outside Counsel. 
  • Conducts exit interviews for departing employees; provides summary and analysis of trending termination data. 
  • Responsible for the HR SharePoint Site and associated maintenance. 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills 
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or related field. Experience and expertise working in HRIS Systems is preferred, as well as Microsoft office/M365, which includes Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint is required. 
  • An understanding of human resources principles and practices. 
  • Maintains high standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities. Must be conscious of proofing all work on an on-going basis. High attention to detail and follow up is essential. 
  • Assumes responsibility for doing assigned work and for not only establishing but also meeting deadlines. Accepts accountability for meeting assigned responsibilities in the assigned areas. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Requires excellent judgment and sound decision making. 
  • Must be adaptable to perform under stress. 
  • Due to the frequent interruptions that may occur; individual must adapt well to stopping and starting job tasks and maintain a cooperative, confidential and courteous relationship with employees. 
  • Confidentiality is essential. 
  • Tact, diplomacy and the ability to enlist the support of others are critical. 
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of employees required. 
  • Outstanding time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experienced in developing spreadsheets and PowerPoint slide decks is strongly preferred.
