Production Assistant

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  Other duties may be assigned.

Ø  Performs harvesting and cleaning duties for all products produced.

Ø  Assists QA personnel with product isolation and storage.

Ø  Provides assistance and training to the packaging operators.

Ø  Provides assistance to the molding technicians personnel throughout the shift.

Ø  Moves completed pallets of product into the warehouse, utilizing a pallet jack or electric forklift as required by the size and type of the load.

Ø  Shrink-wrap all completed pallets of product, prior to stocking.

Ø  Consolidates all rejected tips by shift’s end and places them into a recycling bin.

Ø  Segregates, piece counts and records the drop off tips from each machine.

Ø  Ensures overall cleanliness of the production areas and equipment.

Ø  Rotates shifts when required for increased coverage.

Ø  Reports all pertinent information to the oncoming shift personnel.

Ø  Reports ALL pertinent information to the shift seniors, leads or supervisor.

Ø  Opens and closes molds for the purpose of clearing jammed parts.

Attendance/Dependability – Consistently reports to assigned workstation promptly and on –time daily.  Follows instructions, responds to management’s direction and takes responsibility for own actions.  Keeps commitments, completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Education and/or Experience:   High school diploma and or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a high volume production environment.  Verbal and written communication skills in basic conversational English is required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Familiarity with MS office programs is preferred.


What You Need to Succeed

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Forklift Certification is required.

Other Qualifications:   Lockout/Tagout Training

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend twist, push and pull.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds and lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds approximately two to three times per shift. The employee is required to operate equipment (pallet jack, electric forklift, etc.) to move product from production areas into warehouse locations.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The daily operations consist of a twenty-four (24) hour a day, three (3) shift operations in a high volume plastic injection-molding environment.  The area includes working with molding machines and employees on other shifts.  The daily mandatory use of the following personal protective equipment (PPE) is required: hairnet, facemask, gloves.  Additional PPEs such as hearing protection may also be required.  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  Moderate noise level is experienced in the work environment.
