Product Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Product Engineer will develop solutions for Floor and Vehicle scale applications, which meet the customer requirements using cost effective design methodology. This role will develop a strong presence with fabricators both internal and external to ensure quality standards are being met. In addition the Product Engineer will be required to interact with sales, distribution, internal marketing representatives and manufacturing to develop product solutions efficiently and effectively.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Create mechanical, electrical and manufacturing drawings and schematics
  • Develop design concepts, evaluate design alternatives, and provide costing estimates
  • Perform product performance testing and regulatory compliance testing 
  • Assure that new or modified designs meet or exceed applicable industry standards and performance/ cost goals
  • Document, disclose, and protect patentable knowledge; avoid patent infringements
  • Provide technical support to the Marketing Organization, including Field Service Technicians for assigned products
  • Some travel required

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil, Welding or Structural Engineering preferred OR a BS in a related field combined with applicable experiences and capabilities is required 
  • Product design experience; preferably within a technical or industrial field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to lead projects and work as part of a project team
  • Proven aptitude/ experience with mechanical drawing generation with 3D CAD software, structural design analysis, weldment design, heavy steel fabrication, and basic electrical writing 
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 60 pounds
