Inside Sales Representative

Biotix is a world-class manufacturer of plastic liquid handling products used in virtually all laboratories in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, industrial, clinical, educational and medical device markets. These products include manual pipettes, manual pipet tips, automation tips, PCR tubes/plates, reservoirs and micro centrifuge tubes. In the position of Inside Sales Representative for Biotix, Inc., the primary duties are to maintain and grow existing revenues and relationships in an established remote sales territory. This position is based out of our Biotix Scripps Office in San Diego, CA. Your responsibilities would include:
  • Working with the Director of Sales to develop strategic sales plans that identify key end users, accounts, markets and distribution partners both within our current customer base and potential new relationships.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the products, operations, and strategic direction of Biotix, Inc. 
  • Fostering and developing current and future business opportunities utilizing our CRM (Salesforce.com) and our distribution partners. 
  • Building a working knowledge of basic lab procedures used in the Life Science Research and Clinical Testing markets. 
  • Working remotely with end users and with our network of existing distributors to demonstrate the use and advantages of the full Biotix product line.
  • Actively drive revenue in a defined territory by engaging in remote sales and service activities including: attending web meetings, processing new sales leads, answering phone calls and handling customer issues and inquiries. 
  • Meeting or exceeding corporate objectives and self-monitor performance against annual revenue, GP and expense budgets.
  • Responding to customer needs in open field sales territories during times of field personnel transition or territory restructuring.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with field sales personnel for select large opportunities that require additional resources.

What You Need to Succeed

Education and/or Experience Summary:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science curriculum or an Associate’s degree with at least two years customer service, sales, or marketing related experience.
  • Two years of experience in the Life Science market or a related business area. Relevant work experience in a Research Lab environment is preferred but not required.
  • Specific sales experience or inbound/outbound call center experience is preferred. 
  • Proven aptitude for teamwork and customer focus.
  • Occasional field travel and a few overnight stays per year depending on opportunities and needs. Complete other related tasks as assigned by management.
