Product Development Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Troemner's LLC Engineering Department is looking for an Engineer that has Project Management/Program Management experience. You will be responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical or electromechanical products or plant systems. 

  • Responsible for program management on new product development projects, including ownership of schedule, cost and quality deliverables. 
  • Works with product or equipment specifications, performance requirements and customer requirements to determine designs which can be produced by new or existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. 
  • Designs new products or modifies existing products considering costs, size, shape, drive systems, and time limitations. 
  • Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations. 
  • Confers with product management, manufacturing and technical personnel to clarify or resolve problems and prepares design modifications as required.  
  • Researches materials and components needed and confers with Purchasing to specify. 
  • Interfaces with vendors as necessary. 
  • Prepares product or system layout and detailed drawings, schematics and structured documentation. 
  • Uses thorough knowledge of materials manufacturing techniques and product software control. 
  • Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system. 
  • Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs and instructs engineering technician as needed to perform testing. 
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. 
  • Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development products systems or other uses.

What You Need to Succeed

Bachelor's degree (B. S. in Mechanical Engineering or B.S. Electrical) from four-year college or university; plus a minimum of three years related experience and/or training. Must have Project or Program Management experience.

Office, Solidworks CAD package, and other routine office equipment.
