Mechanical Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

·         Design and 3D model high-tolerance, thin wall, high-volume components for plastic injection molding

·         Solve challenging issues and design sophisticated Mechanical systems

·         Integrate materials knowledge, tooling insights, MoldFlow analysis and process results into part designs

·         Work with suppliers, consultants and the Rainin operations team to drive part and product development successfully into production.

What You Need to Succeed

    ·       Minimum of BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related area of study, and 5+ years in a related industry, such as precision lab-grade consumables or high volume products

    ·       Have demonstrated experience with design and development of Injection molded plastic parts

    ·       Fluency in common 3D solid modeling design tools (Autodesk, Pro/E, SolidWorks).  Experience in Autodesk Inventor 3D solid model design tool a plus

    ·       Knowledge of polymers

    ·       Proven track record of driving projects to successful completion

    ·       Excellent organizational and communication skills

    ·       Experience with design and development of tooling for plastic injection molded is desirable

    ·       Experience with computer-aided analytical tools such as MoldFlow (Moldex3D) or FEA software a plus

    ·       Electromechanical design knowledge is desirable
