Manufacturing Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities



• Provide design support with emphasis on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) on new product development projects.  Be the voice of operation and the liaison between R&D and production teams to ensure   efficient & effective new product introduction launches.

• Responsible for setup of new manufacturing processes and production lines.
 
• Ensuring successful transfer of new products from R&D to Production by facilitating trial builds, designing, procuring & qualifying equipment, training production, and other activities as required.

• Project manage multiple concurrent projects involving both in house design and contract manufacturing.  
 
• Identifies, quantifies, and plans for risks associated with projects.

• Prepare production for pilot and launch.

• Actively participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives by focusing on highest priority process improvements for Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance across the organization.
 
• Identifies additional cost savings opportunities & leads these initiatives.

• Support global instrument & consumables manufacturing – sustaining & NPI.

• Proactively identify deficiencies in current production processes (upstream and downstream processes) and improve existing production processes to optimize cost and quality of products.

• Performs role with integrity, high sense of accountability, pursuing innovation, and delivering quality, driving continuous improvement & using resources wisely.

What You Need to Succeed



 Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering (preferred) or other engineering technology disciplines.

• Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience 

• Experience within a plastic molding and/or mechanical-electrical assembly/test environment with NPI focus desired.
 
• Ability to read and understand schematics and mechanical drawings.  Understanding of GD&T a plus.

• Understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies. 

• Understanding of BOMs and Routings 

• Experience with 3D CAD modeling programs. 

• Skills and proficiency with standard computer applications; MS office applications.  

• Familiarity with ERP systems - SAP preferred.

• Experience in life science industry a plus
