Supply Chain Director

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Job Summary: 

This role is responsible for managing the Supply Chain for Rainin products at operations located in Oakland, CA and Vacaville, CA. Key functions that report into this position include Procurement, Materials Planning, Production Scheduling, S&OP, Inventory Management, Order Fulfillment, Warehouse & Logistics, and Import/Export Compliance.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 


• Manage S&OP, shop floor, material, inventory and resource planning 

• Manage inventory and safety stock levels for finished goods as well as for components and buying parts

• Support and cooperate in New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Change (EC) projects,  plan and ensure a smooth cutover

• Communicate cross-functionally and proactively with customer service, sales, production and other relevant areas to ensure customer commitments align with production schedules

• Responsible for Achieving On-Time Delivery and Inventory Turnover Targets

• Lead inventory optimizations to improve service levels and reduce working capital requirements

Production Scheduling:

• Manage the units production scheduling activities

• Ensure the timely production and delivery to meet our customers' requirements.

• Strong partnership with Production team to ensure alignment on business needs, production capabilities, and staffing plans


• Ensure Quality, Delivery and Cost goals are met for procured goods and services for direct and / or indirect spend

• Ensure continuity of Supply by managing risks within the Supply Chain and forming strategic relationships with critical suppliers. 

• Manage supplier performance and relationships and devise action plans for improvement for under achieving suppliers

• Ensure Quality, Delivery and Cost goals are met for procured goods and services for direct and / or indirect spend

• Ensure Buyers are effectively managing supplier communication and processing Purchase Orders on a timely basis

Order Fulfillment / Warehouse / Logistics:

• Ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective delivery of goods to internal and external customers

• Drive cost reductions (cost/line shipped) and productivity improvements in warehouse operations

• Ensure inventory accuracy and proper inventory controls

• Coordinate and oversee the business's C-TPAT certification activities

• Ensure compliance to all global trade regulatory requirements


• Build an effective team that is collaborative and results oriented

• Develop processes, systems, reporting and analytics to support improved supply chain visibility 

• Manage and meet budget requirements

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business  Administration, etc. 

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Operations, and/or General   Management 

• Experience managing a medium to large size team

• Knowledge of SAP is plus

• Strong analytical and financial skills

• Operates with a sense of urgency and highly focused on the customer

• Strong change management, facilitation, and communication skills coupled with an ability to drive   improvements.  Must be results-oriented with demonstrated accomplishments.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  Ability to lead through persuasion with all levels and  cultures within the organization.
