Technical Training Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Training Manager to join our Service team in Salford, Manchester. 

The Technical Training Manager will define, create and administer the full execution of Metal Detection Service training requirements and ensure Engineers globally receive adequate training to meet customer needs and support service growth. The Technical Training Manager will also manage a small team of Technical Trainers and an E-Learning Designer.

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Develop training courses using a system of practical, theory and self help to assist internal and external Field Service Technicians
  • Manage a team of Technical Trainer, Technician and E-Learning Designer, providing mentoring and assistance to the team to ensure targets are met 
  • Develop E-learning and video material using Powerpoint, video and audio editors 
  • Develop end user training courses for MO's (internal Market Organisations) and distributors to deliver
  • Produce and maintain training material for LMS online and Instructor lead courses
  • Provide training, knowledge transfer and support to international MO's in the US Americas by train the trainer sessions
  • Liaise with internal teams for the production of technical service training concepts and material for training
  • Overseas visits to MO's in regional training centres main focus the USA
  • Assist with the development of new product designs and testing for ease of serviceability and usability
  • Assist and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments and MO's
  • Recommend modifications in the light of MO feedback
  • Consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
  • Analyse and solve technical problems and provide solutions in a timely manner.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Training based Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Degree in Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering would be desirable 
  • Experience in the creation and delivery of training, preferably with some experience of delivering training for Electronic/ Mechanical products
  • Knowledge of training methods, E-Learning and Media Creation 
  • Detailed understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience of managing, coaching or mentoring team members.
