Area Service Leader- Pipettes

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises department employees and is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of a Pipette Service Center.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving internal and external issues in a professional manner.

  • Schedules and coordinates the completion of daily and weekly production assignments, ensuring that all duties are completed as required. Works to ensure the proper flow of orders through the entire Pipette Service system to ensure service goals are met.

  • Directly leads and supervises the Pipette Service Center while ensuring that the Pipette Service Center responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Analyzes, resolves, or assists Pipette Service technicians in completing daily assignments. Collects, analyzes, and resolves issues relating to technician performance.

  • Coordinates the monitoring, investigating, and documentation of new or service related warranty returns. Performs unannounced spot checks on technicians' work and maintains related records.

  • Coordinates the training of department team members, sales personnel, and others as requested.

  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet established standards and recommends measures to Service Operations Manager for improving procedures and equipment.

  • Works with Service Operations Manager to plan for future growth of department.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school plus 1-2 years of related experience in Instrumentation, Packaging Pipettes, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present verbal information to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a good knowledge of computers, SAP and common Microsoft Office programs.
