- Manage supplier relationships to support a high performance in regards to on time delivery/ quality / price measures; communicating supplier scorecards and forecasts per established cadence.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and implement new sources of supply, technologies, and methodologies to support products and processes in alignment with required departments.
- Negotiate prices and contracts for best total cost for assigned commodities pursuing cost reductions to support corporate targets. Create and manage purchasing contracts and agreements that ensure material flow through Kanban releases & PO execution to support production.
- Support tactical buyers in preventing and expediting critical shortages, investigating root cause[s] for supply chain failures and development of cohesive, permanent corrective actions.
- Analyze and validate material costs and identify saving potential as well as driving the implementation in alignment with required departments. Develop strategic initiatives to support MCR (Material Cost Reduction), BOP (Back Office Productivity), and SFP (Shop Floor Productivity).
- Five to ten years of experience in purchasing/procurement small-to-mid volume electrical and or mechanical components commodity in a production environment. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. ISM and/or APICS certifications a plus.
- Current SAP Procurement experience required: contracts, PIRs, Source Lists, purchasing master data, SAP/BI/HANA reporting
- Procurement background and solid knowledge of MRP, Kanban programs and inventory management Prior exposure to DDMRP (Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning) a plus
- Experience implementing and monitoring Supplier Managed Inventory and replenishment programs and processes
- Lean Management (Manufacturing) experience and knowledge
