- Checks and approves base data creation or data change requests.
- Responsible for creating master data records related to Purchased and Manufactured Materials, based on information provided by the business units.
- Responsible for locally provided and used templates for automatic data creation.
- Understands local business and related data management needs.
- Assists with data cleansing and retrofit activities.
- Performs quality checks to ensure high quality of locally used master data.
- Liaison between the business and the Data Governance team
- Provide guidance to key users to assist in understanding the interrelationships between master data fields.
- Supports rollout of new guidelines and policies within a unit.
- Is responsible for monitoring progress and helping push new material creations and extensions for the unit.
- Perform master data clean up tasks, including transaction authorization clean-up efforts in conjunction with IT, according to policies and procedures.
- Communicate with all Business Areas to enforce best practices in data control, governance and continued improvements for data cleansing.
- Identify and propose process improvement opportunities regarding data quality to maintain a high level of data quality once live on SAP.
- Assist in data migration for importing legacy data into SAP.
- Cooperate with business units and SAP Migration team to successfully migrate data governance processes from the business units to the Master Data Team.
- Coordinate with local units with data dual maintenance during cutover phase.
- Ability to work on-site in Mettler-Toledo office facility.
- Execute assigned projects as defined
- Experience in master data creation and governance.
- Ability to work within a team environment to create cooperation between the Data Governance team and the business.
- SAP experience is desirable, especially if related to Master Data processes for Materials, BOM, Routings, PIR's and Source List.
- Strong attention to details, with a passion for accuracy.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and work rapidly in a fast paced atmosphere.
- Strong analytical skills, combined with advanced knowledge of MS Excel,
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) as well as a strong customer service orientation.
- Experience in a purchasing role and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Supply Chain or related field. Consideration will be given to candidates without a degree who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge gained from additional professional experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing in an ERP systems (preferably SAP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with master data in areas such as purchasing, or master data stewardship, data cleansing, and governance.
