Key Purpose of the Role:
The Application Specialist is a professional and competent pre-sales consultant. He/she is able to appreciate complex customer requirements and efficiently articulate his/her technical recommendations (hardware and software) to the customer and the sales team. To complete the sales cycle or project life cycle, the Application Specialist will utilize his/her technical skills to efficiently deploy the solution independently
Strategic Outcome:
Assist the Industrial sales team in achieving its revenue target by providing pre-sales and post-sales expertise.
Actively learn product and application skills, segment specific requirements and regulatory requirements to become a trusted advisor.
Combine technical knowledge with soft skills to articulate technology and product positioning to both the business and technical users and ensure complete customer satisfaction by providing excellent support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Advisory and Product Advocate
-To provide technical support related to our brand's industrial weighing controllers, scales, software and related accessories
-Responsible for self-learning, researching and proposing appropriate equipment that suits customer's functional and budgetary requirements
-As part of the project team, participate in project coordination, sourcing of supplier/instruments, design and execution of projects.
-Conduct internal and external product training
-Participate in seminar presentations
-To understand customer's requirements and carry out allocated work efficiently to achieve committed system performance and communication with external instruments.
- Service Standards and Customer Relationship Management
-Responsible for pre-sales ground-work in term to understand customer's actual needs and requirement.
-To support, assist and configure our brand's controller(s) and ensure proper communication with other devices (Eg. SCADA, PLC, HMI, printers etc).
-Gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating product features and benefits with value-add to their operational requirements
-Adhere to customer's site operating procedures / rules and health / safety / environment regulations.

Mandatory:
• Degree in any engineering discipline preferably in Electrical Engineering or IT.
• Minimum 1 year working experience in an engineering role with knowledge in IT, PLC, system connectivity and basic electrical knowledge.
• Competent in software pre and post-sales
• Ability to own and independently close a project/job using resources available
• Attention to detail with appreciation of customer processes and the project life cycle
• Must live or relocate to Singapore, this is a non-regional position
Preferred:
• 1 year working experience in a Mettler-Toledo technical role with strong product knowledge
