Technical Support Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Technical Support Specialist will be the expert and owner of technical knowledge for XR, MD, VISION, PCE, and CW. Will work closely with Technical Support Manager to assist in KPI measurement and oversight into day to day tech support operations. Will create and implement efficiency improvement initiatives for the field engineers (how the FE can do their job more effectively). May travel to customer locations to fix issues as needed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    Manage all incoming calls into the technical support line queue with limited hold times

    Answer the phone in a professional manner and work with the customer/field engineer to help them troubleshoot their machine and ultimately solve their problem

    Respond to technical questions via email in a timely manner

    Identify and escalate priority issues with a sense of urgency

    Travel into field to perform service work

    Create and maintain knowledge base system and articles for capturing key information that our Field Engineers can access

    Ability to train customers/field engineers/Sales Reps in house or out in the field.

    Part of on-call afterhours rotation to provide remote support to customers and FE's

    Research required information using available resources (different departments). Take ownership of the customer concern until customer is satisfied

    Lead efficiency improvement efforts to be implemented



What You Need to Succeed

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:

    Have a thorough understanding of electronics and schematics, material handling

    Understanding of the food processing industry and environment

    Being able to visualize the customers problem and break the steps down into Lehman's terms so the customer can understand

    Innovative and effective problem-solver and troubleshooter

    Ability to handle a hectic, fast pace, ever-changing work environment, while maintaining a professional attitude

    Ability to work independently or with a team.

    Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to foster interaction within all levels of the organization, clients and subcontractors

    Ability to use all types of hand tools and digital electrical test equipment

    Knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and distribution systems

    Working mechanical knowledge of conveyor systems

    Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical distribution systems

    Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and the ability to read blue prints and schematics

    Ability to lift and carry 50+lbs on a daily basis

    Ability to stand and squat for long periods of time while on the job

    Formal Electronics Training or equivalent professional experience; a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology is preferred
