Automation Technician I

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

We are currently hiring an Automation Technician I to join our manufacturing operations in Oakland, California to take care of equipment set-up, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of automation equipment. In this role, your responsibilities would include: 
  • Changing over equipment between the different configurations. 
  • Monitoring performance of automation equipment and identify equipment that is under performing and requires attention. 
  • Troubleshooting; making adjustments and repairs to equipment. 
  • Performing ongoing scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Keeping accurate maintenance and part inventory records. 
  • Ensuring that the automation laboratory and storage areas are clean and orderly.

What You Need to Succeed

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Operate effectively in a fast paced team environment 
  • 3 or more years of experience with automation equipment – designing, developing and sustaining complex electro-mechanical systems and components 
  • Ability to document and communicate technical details effectively 
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills 
  • 3D CAD skills and proficiency with standard computer applications 
  • Preferably, injection molding, assembly, and packaging in a clean room environment 
  • Preferably, experience with relevant technologies such as sensors, electronics, controls, pneumatics, valves, and mechanisms. 
  • Preferably, programming experience (PLCs, Visual Basic) 
  • Preferably, lean manufacturing knowledge Preferably, database maintenance (File Maker)
