METTLER TOLEDO Thornton, a Strategic Business Unit within MTPRO, is a leading producer of on-line electrochemical liquid analytical measurement parameters such as conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen and Total Organic Carbon, especially for pure and ultrapure water in pharmaceutical/biotech, microelectronics and power generation markets. 

Production Planner/Scheduler
This is an excellent opportunity for the process-driven Planner looking to apply their existing planning knowledge and grow with a market leader. As part of our well-established team you will be responsible for the scheduling and leveling of production orders; considering available resources such as capacity, tools, components/sub-assemblies etc.; and handover of daily workload to production. In this High-Mix, Low-Volume Assembly model you will acts as an information and communication hub between all departments, working closely with the Production group regarding utilization and leveling production orders with "pull in/ push out" to reach 100% utilization on a daily basis.

What you'll be doing: 
  • Expediting Requests to fulfill best results for external/internal customers
  • Responsibility for material availability until items are in Finished good area
  • Daily alignment with Production counterpart regarding backlog and rescheduling orders according to new dates
  • Attendance and contribution to the production shop floor board and material management board, providing required KPIs (OTD, utilization, overdue orders etc.)/graphs and improving those
  • Support material management Lean activities and projects
  • Act as an information and communication hub between Production, Purchasing, Planning Manager (Demand Plan), Warehouse, Sales & Marketing and R&D/Production Engineers as needed
  • Identify and communicate error potential, errors and improvement areas to stakeholders

What You Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a supply planning / scheduling / fulfillment role with strong analytical skills and a commitment to ERP process.
  • SAP knowledge essential to this role with experience in supply chain modules.
  • Excel skills using IF Statements, VLOOKUP and Pivot tables in your daily work.
  • A Strategic Thinker who analyzes the situation, identifies root causes and defines sustainable corrective actions.
  • You see the "big picture" and effectively prioritize production orders in alignment with sales demand vs. Forecast/safety stock

Other Experience and Skills you have

  • Self-motivated, goal-orientation, and high energy level are critical
  • Able to prioritize, and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be a quick learner and dependable
  • Degree in Business Management, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Works well independently as well as in a team environment
  • APICS Certification is a plus, not required
