Field Service Technician, Mid-Atlantic Region

METTLER TOLEDO Process Analytics is a worldwide leader in pH, dissolved and gaseous oxygen, dissolved CO2, conductivity and turbidity solutions for process analytical measurement systems in the chemical, food & beverage, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. In this role the Field Service Technician performs on-site equipment start up, calibration, repair and training services on MT Process analytics products. This position covers the Mid-Atlantic region covering CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA; with ideal residence in the Greater Philadelphia or Southern New Jersey/New York area; 80-100% travel is required, including overnight.

 

Key job responsibilities include:

 

  • Perform on-site service for installed products that may include, but is not limited to, start-up & commissioning, repair, rebuild, calibration and training activities.
  • Perform and drive on-site preventive maintenance programs.
  • Using Device Service Management (DSM), order all assignment request materials and record all related activities in a timely manner.
  • Be the Customer's Trusted Advisor providing technical recommendations to optimize our solutions for the customer's requirements. 
  • Follow-up with the customer to ensure customer is satisfied with the service.

 

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • Three to five years of experience in a service role or minimum of an associate degree in electrical or chemical sciences
  • Preferred experience working in the region’s key industrial market segments (pharmaceutical, power, chemical processing, brewing, F&B, general industrial)
  • Preferred technical aptitude and familiarity with liquid analytical products and applications in key market segments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak and present ideas to a large group.
  • Willing to travel up to 80-100%
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a results-oriented approach who can work under minimum supervision.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Temperatures during working conditions are typically atmospheric and can range from -10F to 120F with humidity as high as 100%
  • Lifting requirements are as much as 100 lbs. per person and should be rare.
  • Due to installation points of products this position may require some climbing on ladders, stooping and reaching.
