National Key Account Manager - Bioprocessing

METTLER-TOLEDO Process Analytics (MTPRO-US http://www.mt.com/pro) is a leading supplier to end-users and system integrators for liquid analytical measurement solutions to control production processes. METTLER TOLEDO Thornton, a Strategic Business Unit within MTPRO, is a leading producer of on-line electrochemical liquid analytical measurement parameters such as conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen and Total Organic Carbon, especially for pure and ultrapure water in pharmaceutical/biotech, microelectronics and power generation markets.


You will directly manage and develop several direct high-potential accounts in the Bioprocessing segment across the US for the Mettler-Toledo Process Analytics business by achieving growth through the development, execution of strategic and tactical account penetration plans, as well as provide ongoing account management support. 
Expected national travel up to 50%.

You will create, implement, and manage Bioprocessing segment strategies to expand Mettler-Toledo Process Analytics’ share in both the single use and traditional reusable Bioprocessing equipment market. Will assume a leadership role in the development of sales opportunities within this segment, primarily with direct account ownership with indirect leadership of some accounts that are handled through our sales channel. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of the Bioprocessing segment and establish strong business relationships between Mettler-Toledo and key equipment manufacturers in this segment.

This is a high-visibility position within the Mettler-Toledo Process Analytics organization and works closely with general management, marketing management, regional sales management, and product management team members. The position reports directly to the Head of Ingold SBU with dotted line responsibility to the US commercial organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with all levels of key accounts.
  • Develop and implement annual key account plan and growth strategy.
  • Develop and conduct sales/service and technical training programs at the key accounts.
  • Create sales tools to increase key account product usage and strengthen partnership.
  • Identify product and market opportunities for existing products in the portfolio and communicate new product opportunities to management.
  • Participate in the contract negotiations with key accounts and maintain contract pricing schedules.
  • Participate in professional organizations and trade shows to keep abreast of trends and preferences in targeted market segments to ensure our strategies meet market expectations.
  • Monitor key account performance vs. sales results and other criteria.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience and expertise in consultative selling, marketing, training, contract negotiating, and sales forecasting.
  • Skilled in writing white papers, data sheets and speaking in public to a technical audience.
  • Extrovert by nature; driven and passionate about product's success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Science 
  • 5-10 years of proven skills with key account management & demonstrated success with penetrating and growing accounts.
  • Expertise in bioprocessing segment and/or system fabricators preferred.
