Electronics Test Engineer

This is a cradle to the grave responsibility that includes strategic design, detail design, implementation, validation, and ongoing maintenance. Design and develop test fixtures for PCBAs and final products using schematics, PCB layouts and component knowledge. This position requires a task-oriented, detailed, project-driven test engineer to work in a team-oriented, cross-functional product development environment to design and create new test/calibration fixtures for analytical measurement systems, sensors and services.  In addition, this position provides the maintenance and improves robustness for existing test/calibration fixtures.
As part of interdisciplinary teams you will work on product development and manufacturing improvements in a concurrent approach to provide efficient methods to verify product electronics performance and measurement accuracy while working within the production strategies for DFM and DFT.

With a Continuous Improvement Focus, you will also:
  • Analyze testing needs on the shop floor and develop test strategies to improve manufacturability of products, product quality and reduce waste.
  • Delivers effective and efficient testing solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverable on time, and adhering to development and quality standards.
  • Understands and implements measurement systems with traceability to NIST and other national standards to assure that analytical product specifications are met.
  • Investigates problems to products/processes, and finds and implements solutions.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Electrical Engineer with minimum of 1 to 3 year of work relevant experience.
  • Hand soldering and rework experience is highly desirable.
  • Optional programming experience in LabVIEW, C++ and/or C# is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embedded programming is strongly desirable; experience with microcontrollers is a plus.
  • EE background is required - must have good knowledge of hardware, PCB layouts, schematics, and be able to troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Working knowledge of DFM/DFT and prior experience to concurrent design teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
