Summer Intern - Sales

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Technical Sales Department is searching for an ambitious summer intern to work on a business development project by utilizing social media.  We are looking for Chemistry or Chemical Engineering students who are interested in both the technical and sales sides of business.  The position will help to enhance your critical skill sets in technical communication, business development, client relationship, database analytics, etc. 

Responsibilities will include:
  • Identifying and developing sales opportunities for AutoChem products within the territory in the specified target market and application segments
  • Participating in various business development activities i.e. lead generation and follow-up, social media activities, cold calling, researching and presenting technical seminars and scientific journals
  • Executing actions to support the business development needed to achieve sales growth by lead generation, nurturing, customer support, and penetration activities at accounts within territory
  • Coordinating with Technical Applications Consultants, Inside Sales, Telesales, Marketing, Service, Software & Product groups during execution of business development activities
  • Generating excitement about METTLER TOLEDO process development platform within and outside METTLER TOLEDO through enthusiastic interaction
  • Maintaining the customer relationship management (CRM) system daily. Complete weekly reports and provide an accurate, detailed forecast on a continual basis, using the CRM system.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/process development market is a plus
  • Prior experience in a technical lab is a plus
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and colleagues over the phone & social media platforms
  • Strong team and organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
