Maintenance Assistant

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Summary: An Assistant Maintenance Technician performs heavy labor, semiskilled and unskilled manual tasks related to the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and grounds. Work assignments may be in any of the building trades.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
  • Cleans internal areas of building by removing boxes or other debris from work areas, disposes of debris, sweep and clean warehouse and production floors, mops spills.
  • Empties trash cans and consolidates recycle trash for weekly pickup.
  • Touches up paint on interior and exterior walls and trim.
  • Maintains Company parking lots and sidewalks in a clean and safe condition.
  • Safely operate tools and machines common to the building maintenance trade.
  • Performs recurring tasks such as carrying, moving, and delivering supplies and equipment.
  • Working individually as well as teaming with other employees to complete assigned work and achieve goals while demonstrating initiative and innovation.
  • Safely operating fork truck as required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:

  • Self-starter; able to work with a minimum of supervision;
  • Perform sustained heavy labor
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions

 

Prerequisites (Education, Experience, etc.)
  • Safely operate tools and machines common to the building maintenance trade.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
