METTLER TOLEDO Thornton is a leading supplier for on-line liquid process measurement solutions for pure and ultrapure water applications.  Thornton's innovative analytical measurement solutions provide monitoring and control capabilities to customers in the Pharmaceutical, Microelectronics, and Power generation industries.  

We are currently recruiting for an energetic Quality Engineer.   This position is a technical leader role with a focus on quality improvement, measurement, training and process documentation. It touches all departments of the Producing Organization relative to leading quality improvement.

As a member of the Quality Department, you will work towards disruption elimination for both the employee and customer perspective in support of the goal to "Satisfy Every Customer, Every Time". 

The Quality Engineer will monitor and report performance against established milestones and KPI's. You will work across departments to achieve stated objectives.

Key Responsibilities Involve:

Process Validations: Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within organization.

Nonconformance (NC) and Corrective and Preventable Action (CAPA) processing: Interface with suppliers concerning problems with quality assurance and ensure that effective corrective action is implemented. Act as the primary Quality Notification Owner, prioritize as necessary and utilize this system to drive real improvements to the customer and our business.

Quality & Cost Improvement Projects: Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection; Track vendor performance and part performance.

Production & Process Controls: Work with engineers to analyze external and internal process data; Support improvements for in process and final inspection processes.

Auditing: Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction; Routinely perform internal and process related audits; participate in vendor audits as necessary.

Documentation Control & Training: Develop and administer management information systems with understanding of human factors and motivation; manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.

What You Need to Succeed

  • BS Degree (or combination of relevant work and education) in technical, engineering or related field
  • 5 years' work experience in Quality Control or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Statistical Process Control data collection methods with proven experience in designing and implementing methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO 9001:2015
  • SAP or other major ERP experience required
  • Competence with computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent problem solving skills, analytical and statistical problem solving tools
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel

  • CQE Certification (both willing and able to obtain within 18 months of employment)
  • CQA Lead Auditor Certification
  • Familiarity with ATEX (EX) directive 
  • Experience using standard quality tools i.e. Flow Charts, Pareto Charts, Histogram, Control Charts, Ishikawa Diagram, 5 Why's, Mistake Proofing,
  • Six Sigma training
