Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Team Leader, Software Applications to join a leading global supplier of industrial equipment to the food and beverage market, based in Salford.  

We are market leaders, who provide premium product inspection technology to international customers that use our products to protect the general public.  The role will involve embedded and desktop software development and is ideally suited to candidates seeking a technically challenging, interesting, varied and rewarding role with international opportunities.

This is a Team Lead role that with responsibility for development of predominantly PC based applications.  The purpose of the role is:
  • Supervision of the Applications Software Team, working within the Microsoft technology stack, to deliver software to agreed requirements within quality and timescale objectives.
  • Provide technical architectural oversight and guidance in the development of metal detection applications and solutions (including connectivity product offerings).
  • Support the wider Safeline organisation in all matters relating to software and its application.
  • Day to day supervision and guidance of Software Engineers/Developers.
  • Support other product development activities as and when required. 

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience in a managing a team 
  • Proven experience developing C# .NET applications
  • Good degree in a computer science, electronics, physics or similar related discipline
  • A strong knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack
  • Experience of software development using Microsoft Visual Studio & Team Foundation Server 
  • Good knowledge of the .NET framework (4.6 and later, .NET Core or .NET Standard)
  • A full understanding of Object Oriented (OO) design and Design Patterns
  • Have an appreciation of the challenges, limitations and differences between PC and Embedded Target development 
  • Familiar with using .NET Interop features including COM and P/Invoke
  • Experience with using Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) 
  • Experience of the complete product development lifecycle preferably within a multidisciplinary team and in an environment using recognised development methodologies
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps, TFS & Git.
