Marketing Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Marketing Specialist plays a key role within our Canadian Marketing Team as its expectation crosses the full portfolio of products and services. Candidates for this role are proactive and engaged, seeking to contribute with value-added programs and the expectation to differentiate our organization and contribute to lead and revenue growth, as well as improved market share. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: 
  • Shares responsibility for the Marketing planner creation, the timing, management and execution of the annual initiatives (known as the Marketing Planner) 
  • Ensures activities are completed within the expected timeline and budget 
  • Support efforts to continuously monitor and report marketing performance; analyze for opportunities and propose solutions for driving business performance 
  • Follow marketing and market place trends in all of the industries we serve; explore new opportunities for growth; attends and coordinates key events 
  • Assist Sales Reps in the planning and implementation of customer events as well as assessing effectiveness and quality of the activity's execution 
  • Engage in research to assess success of initiative, as well as future marketing requirements based upon market research and industry analysis
  • Be an engaged member of the marketing team and our collective goal for quality lead generation
  • Provide feedback/ideas for marketing regarding emerging marketing channels 
  • Support projects that will help the Canadian organization continually grow and learn about its customers and product needs, such as competitive knowledge/databases, marketing intelligence, industry trends and more

What You Need to Succeed

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • They must be personable, confidential, have good telephone skills, be able to work with minimum supervision, and be willing to travel (up to 25%). 
  • The individual should have knowledge of the weighing and instrument marketplace and possess excellent communication and computer skills. 
  • The ability to learn new techniques and skills quickly is also necessary. 
  • Prior marketing experience is preferred, however, a candidate who is looking to move from the laboratory or sales into a marketing position will be strongly considered. 
  • Bilingual French and English skills are preferred but not mandatory.
