Support Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Develop global field and depot service standards, design and deliver service training programs, write service and support documentation, and provide technical assistance and service training to employees in the US and abroad.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

• Develop, enhance, and deliver service training programs.
• Document service operations best practices and performance benchmarks.

• Promote high quality standards in service delivery and assess current service processes across our global organizations.

• Support set-up of service centers and field service teams.

• Review engineering change orders for service impact and write relevant service bulletins to inform of all changes to all service organizations.

• Assess new product development for ease of service and give recommendations to research and development on design improvements.

• Use Video equipment and video editing tools to create service videos for training as well as live training sessions.

• Build all necessary supporting training documents for new products such as trainings, manuals, work instructions etc.

• Plan for and assist with the design of service fixtures and tools.

• Create service and support plans for new products and develop phase out strategies and plans for product discontinuation. 
• Make and maintain recommended spare parts lists for service operations.

• Provide on-site and remote second level service support.

• Up to 25% domestic and international travel (trip duration up to 2 weeks at a time).

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or Science, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with precision mechanical and electro-mechanical devices is required. 

• Strong mechanical/ technical aptitude is required. 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Previous experience as a trainer is a plus. 

• Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, and use intuition and experience to complement data.

• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
