Production Utility Technician - 2nd Shift (M - Th 2:15 PM - 12:45 AM)

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities


To provide support for fabrication and specifically the machine shop as the utility production technician.

The Production Utility Technician is responsible for ensuring all activities prior and post CNC production are completed.  Responsibilities also include cross training on all CNC equipment, receiving machines through breaks and lunches and any other tasks necessary to ensure that equipment keeps running.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Reading Work orders
  • Using Computer Information to pull parts kits
  • Deliver finished parts to the correct staging location
  • Ability to safely load and unload material
  • Receive material in and deliver to proper put away location
  • Deburr parts and help ensure quality is being met
  • Operate machines during breaks and lunches
  • Following the Work To Schedule
  • Perform inspection checks on processed parts
  • Perform diagnostic checks and maintenance of machinery
  • Correct usage of job tracking software
  • Maintain our FPY Goals ensuring it is done right the first time every time
  • In addition to our core values all employees must follow the Code of Conduct.
  • Keep your area clean and organized to 5S Standards
  • Ability to train and be cross trained in various machining equipment
  • Knowledge CNC Software Programs
  • Ability to layout the correct priorities for the work scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk, Inventor, HSM or Master-cam
  • Basic hand tools and squaring and straight edge tools
  • Cross Train in all areas requiring CNC Programming
  • Ability to ensure the correct jobs are being processed 
  • Ability to load and unload the machine with various types of material
  • Ability to follow direction and ensure priorities are being met 
  • Proficient blueprint knowledge.
  • Attention to tolerances and interpretation
  • Perform Daily, Weekly, and scheduled and unscheduled TPM and Vendor required maintenance.
  • Ability to safely deburr parts
  • MRP System experience
  • Lean Process experience and help reduce waste
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to read engineered drawings
  • Ability to interpret sales orders
  • Ability to perform duties using metric and American measurements
  • Able to follow written and oral instruction
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work in standing, sitting and multiple positions

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • High School or equivalency
  • Trade School or Apprentice Program
  • Related experience or training
