Quality Inspector, Incoming Inspection

In this role you will be primarily responsible for incoming inspection. In addition, you will support for other quality centric functions.

 
As a member of the Quality Department, the Incoming Inspector will work towards disruption elimination for both the employee and customer perspective in support of the goal to "Satisfy Every Customer, Every Time". You will monitor and report performance against established milestones and KPI's and will work across departments to achieve stated objectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting purchased mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials for conformance to drawing requirements and specifications, using precision measuring tools, instrument, optical comparator and completes associated paperwork as required
  • Authoring Quality Notifications as needed
  • Maintaining SN and other critical information in Inspection database
  • Maintaining >98% MRB inventory accuracy on both a value and absolute quantity value basis
  • Maintaining and updating the PMI database. Assisting in the tracking of nonconforming product and verify effective corrective action
  • Investigating nonconforming product to recommend appropriate disposition and using standard Root Cause analysis tools (SPC, Fishbone, 5 Why's etc.) to help resolve MRB high flyers and drive continuous improvement activities

What You Need to Succeed

  • High school or trade school. Some community college courses in mechanical inspection or a related field; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Five plus (5+) years experience inspecting electronic and mechanical parts, components, and assemblies.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and have a working knowledge of GD&T
  • Must be able to select and use appropriate measurement tools with a working understanding of the fundamentals of precision measurement.
  • Communication skills: effective written communication skills necessary to complete various quality documents.
  • Communication skills: effective verbal communication with coworkers, engineering and management.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or GMP regulations
  • Proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
