Technology and Application Consultant

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will report to the Business Leader – Microbial Detection. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Worldwide support for technical applications and related products worldwide, with specific focus on pharmaceutical markets that need advanced applications and product technical knowledge. 
  • Participating in the sales process including pre and post sales customer visits. 
  • Working with Product Managers and eBusiness groups to develop opportunities.
  • Developing strong application knowledge and serving as the recognized expert for product, process optimization and development.
  • Creating and presenting technical papers about applications at key industry seminars, conferences and symposiums. 
  • Developing strong technical product knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of competitive and complementary technologies and solutions.
  • Supporting our customers through on-site training, technical support, application feasibility studies and pre/post-sale support.
  • Identifying and developing application solutions that provide high value to the pharmaceutical markets.
  • Transferring knowledge and data from application feasibility studies, industry applications, and technical journals for future product development.

What You Need to Succeed

  • The ability to travel between 40 and 60 percent.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience with microbial detection and/or instrumentation in development, sales or applications support positions is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or ultrapure water measurement industries, design and regulations, and control preferred.
  • BS Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Science, or Engineering 
  • MS in Microbiology preferred
  • Ability to technically support the product line, collect and analyze data, develop and present technical papers and case studies.   
  • Fluent in English.
  • Has a customer and commercial orientation.
  • Ability to manage relationships across departments such as Product Management, MARCOM, R&D, Engineering, Technical Services, After Market Services, Quality Assurance, Operations and Logistics in new product development, applications and product performance issues.
  • Essential to be sensitive to cultural differences inherent in global business interactions and relationship building.
