Senior Pricing Analyst

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Senior Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and executing appropriate data techniques and methods to enable increased insight into the business by various global stakeholders. This will be accomplished by leveraging existing in-house tools and methods, as well as introducing new processes based on relevant industry and educational experience. Global stakeholders will include multiple functions such as Marketing, Sales, Service, Finance, and Product Development. 

Senior Pricing analysts work with complex data sets to help businesses determine and set competitive prices to gain market share and achieve financial goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Introduction of new analytics and visualizations that help global senior management gain insight and make decisions. 
  • Leveraging existing tools (SQL, Access, Vendavo, BI, Tableau/Power BI, R) to create reports and dashboards that can be used by internal stakeholders. 
  • Introducing and establishing new technologies (e.g. Database, Statistical Modelling, Visualization) to enhance ability to deliver business insights. 
  • Communicating effectively with multiple levels of management. This includes tailoring results and recommendations to meet the needs of different audiences. 
  • Providing reports and analysis related to price realization for all key products and key segments within each local market. 
  • Developing specific actionable recommendations with reports to assist units in achieving and exceeding price targets. 
  • Analyzing win / loss data to better understand the key underlying drivers impacting price realization in each local market 
  • Managing Strategic Pricing projects to implement price harmonization across regions; supporting analyses and synthesis of macro-economic data to help set global prices. 
  • Supporting the development of various toolkits to supplement the application and utilization of pricing concepts and ideas 
  • Pricing transaction analysis including cost-to-serve, price banding and transaction waterfalls, promotion effectiveness, discounting controls and customer segmentation. 
  • Supporting global deal desk for strategic negotiations; analyze yearly sales and pricing performance of customers, benchmark discounts against similar key accounts; evaluate impact on total revenue and margin; and review payment & shipping terms within a contract 

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Strong analytical skills with significant quantitative analysis experience. Ability to synthesize quantitative information and communicate observations, implications and conclusions in a business context 
  • Exposure to pricing theory and practice. Ability to take sound pricing principals and apply to various businesses within Mettler Toledo 
  • Business/financial modeling. Ability to mine data and translate business information into models which are predictive of business results to assist in effective decision making 
  • Strong knowledge of pricing processes, price administration and controls, as well as price monitoring and analysis 
  • Strong knowledge of and high proficiency in the use of SQL, Access, Tableau, Power BI 
  • ERP pricing module implementation experience (SAP experience) is highly desired. 
  • Ideal skills would include detail orientation, can do attitude, strong problem solving skills and the ability to effectively work with ambiguity (the ability to work with the information at hand to achieve set goals) 
  • Time Management: Multi-tasking and prioritization of multiple projects 
  • Presentations: Ability to create and deliver effective presentations to senior leadership, as well as organizational training 
Education / Experience Required: 
  • A bachelor's in a business or technical discipline 
  • An MBA with a specialty in one of the following areas is highly desired: Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Economics 
  • Pricing specific courses or seminars highly desired 
  • 5+ years in a multi-national corporate environment 
  • Experience in B2B companies strongly preferred
